Welcome to the Montessori School of Greenville!
Founded by the Bylenga family in 1970, we are the oldest Montessori school in the Upstate and have been educating students in a safe, appealing, hands-on learning environment for over 40 years. Our proud tradition is rooted in the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori and honors the uniqueness of each child while fostering a sense of independence and self-reliance as well as respect for self and others.
The Montessori School of Greenville follows the comprehensive learning approach known as the Montessori Method. There is no trademark for a Montessori school. Each is unique. At the Montessori School of Greenville, we hire the finest teachers; their tenure averages over sixteen years. Some of the parents of current students were children themselves in our school. We have seen our students go on to prestigious universities, such as Duke, MIT, and Emory, some on full scholarships. In our forty-plus years, we have educated people with a passion for excelling in their field of expertise and giving back to their communities - as doctors, attorneys, biomedical statisticians, and artists - doing what interests them most.
In addition to lifelong residents of Greenville, our school community includes families from around the world - Latin America, India, Europe, Asia - and North American transplants from all over the U.S. Our diverse student and teacher population reflects the international flavor of Greenville and promotes a peaceful understanding of many cultures. We invite you to contact us to learn more about the Montessori School of Greenville and look forward to meeting you soon.
"You all have assisted in establishing a foundation that has helped my boys start an incredible education. This base will follow them for the remainder of their school years into their adult lives and we thank you all for touching their lives. Many thanks for everything!" -Parent of two boys when exiting the Montessori School of Greenville
