The Elementary Program is comprised of a mixed age classroom with students ranging from six to nine years old which is lead by a certified Montessori teacher. It is equivalent to the first through the third grade of a traditional elementary school.

Similar to the Primary Program, children in the Elementary Program stay in the same classroom with the same teacher for the entire three years. The comfort and familiarity this creates encourages the child to continue and develop both a strong sense of self reliance and belonging to a larger community which can be served through outreach projects.

The curriculum in the Elementary Program is a continuation and extension of work begun in the Primary Program. In addition, children receive special instruction in music, art, French and computer skills. A variety of field trips throughout the year supplement the classroom experience.

At the Montessori School of Greenville we encourage and support parent involvement throughout the child's educational experience. Parents are invited and encouraged to share their cultural heritage, hobbies and vocations with the students where appropriate. In addition to various class and school-wide programs, there are Parent Information Nights and parents and teachers meet twice a year for individual conferences to discuss the development of the child.
